Janakpur is very developed and holds such significant importance in the Aryan civilization. I am sad that it has been very very underrated and its history underlined as if its non-existence.
I genuinely believe that around 33% of the world population and more by global migration has heard of the EPIC RAMAYANA. I was in INDONESIA and being the world’s most highly populated the Muslim nation, I can guarantee that no other places hold artifacts related to Ramayana than Indonesia and 100% of the Indonesian know Mahabharata and Ramayana than any other country.
Now, what I am trying to relate is the connection with those widespread EPIC BOOKS and JANAKPUR. I personally haven’t read page to page including every script by Balmiki-the author, but I can say Janakpur’s existence is the core script of Ramayana and from King Janak, to his earth-born daughter Sita is the sole reason why Ramayana exists.
Sita is the main character in the Epic who was always shadowed and her faith, bravery, loyalty, and existence diminished from Ramayana. probably due to factorss being gender issues and King Rama on the focus being an avatar of Vishnu.
I have heard rarely Sita’s role and her suffering from the devotees. if only she can be praised and understood, Janakpur will draw such a crowd of devotees and other footfall I reckon the government of Nepal can start preparing a structured entry towards it. I believe and am willing to support to highlight it and develop its starting point for devotees.
Buddha changed view philosophy of life, but do I care where was his cradle? People climb Everest more than knowing if his birthplace was less than 1000 km nevertheless Sita’s Janakpur.
Seriously, I will be happy to contribute to anything that would help Sita’s name along with King Janak’s empire to have an equal share along with the legends of Rama and Rawana.
Apart, from this, the magical Mythali culture and its heritage need a proper place in the midst of Gurkha or Sherpa. they are much older than the other culture, and key inspiration for many to come.
Probably lying somewhere near the border of the country, lack of literacy and transparency and mostly the mindset of capital people- royals are white, black and skinny are poor- might be some of the factors Janakpur still unknown to many.
Things are changing and so are thoughts and ideas of the rest of Nepal. the change will come and Janakpur, once proud city with such heavy heritage will mark its place once again. let’s start with ourselves and within the country foremost, then the legend of Janakpur can be spread again on a global basis.
I was fortunate to visit the following, a few years back where the legend of Janakpur is stated foremost than any other. its’s massive huge and magical place in Java island, Indonesia.
